Thanks for watching through squinted eye’ve been negligent not prolific seems summer is a busy time and art suffers is life changes for the better and there needs be made a room a space for things as new things and other things and and and here it is and hoping the routine returns cause this fulfilling and peaceful like a cloud floating in a night sky blotching stars and the moon shines fresh like the morning dew sun reflecting off the grass of every blade painting with a drop of rainbow and maybe if you look hard a pot of gold maybe and maybe you won’t be blue or sad or lonely and you will eat the blue the color will come back and you will be an expression of person standing all alone on a room full of full engages persons with a pen or a brush or a song

No music tonight.

Pokemon

Crayon markers

The boy wanted his Pokemon cards today, guess what? I didn’t pack them for a week at the cottage, so we made some.

Actually he made a bunch and I made two. I didn’t really let my mind wander all that far cause if you have ever seen Pokemon characters you might figure there is some weird ju-ju in the water in Japan. But then isn’t that usually the way with anime?

Anyway
Fun.

Music: Steve Miller Band, kind if a weird sound track but meh… It worked.

Watercolor, pastel

I was asked how big it was… The art, and I realized all similar sizes. I out four sheets together tonight and diluted some black water color grabbed a big wide brush and followed my head.

I wanted to do a figure and two made a nice balanced sense. I’m not sure what the year means… Happiness, sadness, hello, goodbye, why? He looks hard, not angry, just hard, stone to what’s going on being the tough one the man, I imagine he’s crying too, inside.

Music: Listening to songza and not really liking the choices. It’s a play list called Canuck Folk. It’s not folky enough.

Fields.

Colored pencil.

Just sitting on the back deck on a sunny Saturday looking out across the fields. There was a little trouble getting depth as the green in the high midday sun were all so similar, but it works ok.

I like this drawing, it loose enough to capture the scene without having to much detail.

I can look at it and ‘see’ the spot.

I need to sketch more *sigh*

Music: we were all sitting around just chatting and watching the kids in an epic water fight… The music of laughter.

Oil pastel.

I was looking at the time, and like usual it’s a lot later then I actually want to be up. I had a pose in my head, but I limited the time I could spend on this drawing.

The figure I wanted didn’t work so I did this one instead. I limited myself to 10 minutes. So two bad sketches and then this one all done in time.

Turned out ok, a little fake looking somewhere between a cartoon and real life.
